ColdFront roles are defined as groups
Staff Access
A user can only view projects they are on. However, there is a way to enable Center staff to view all projects. You may wish to do this for your Center director(s) or other user-facing staff who could benefit from accessing the project information.
Marking a user with staff status gives them access to the User Profile feature and displays the Staff menu.
Groups
Most permission roles require the user account to be ‘staff’ in addition to the permissions.

System Administrators
System administration staff should be afforded full access to ColdFront to see all data (projects, allocations, grants, publications, research outputs, users, invoices, reports, etc). If you have a system administrator you do not want to have full access to ColdFront, we recommend you set their account to 'Staff Status' and add additional permissions on that individual account as necessary. See staff status information.
To enable a user as a system administrator in ColdFront, select their account in the ColdFront Administration Dashboard, click on the checkboxes next to BOTH 'Staff Status' and 'Superuser Status', and click save.
