New and Improved

  • Users are allowed to claim up to 50GB of memory as /tmp space on login nodes;

Fixes

  • Improved the stability of the login nodes

 

Explanation

User applications utilising /tmp may result in running out of space. This happened a few times in the past and rendered the login node unusable. Having /tmp in memory reduces this risk and brings it under the control of cgroups memory restrictions.
